Acting responsible is one of the most important key abilities utilized in everyday life. To me, acting responsible is taking responsibility for your actions and the tasks at hand. It can be as simple as showing adequate time management, being prepared, and even accepting what has come your way.
As a Surgical Technologist it is important to act and take responsibility for the task at hand. It is key to be responsible for the patient, have all necessary and possible equipment/supplies readily available in the room to prevent additional time under anesthesia, putting a higher risk of infection for the patient, and also be responsible for maintaining the sterile field at all times and be aware of anyone entering or exiting the room.
The artifact I chose is my perivascular notes that I took during my surgical interventions class. This document shows that I am acting responsibly by taking adequate notes allowing me to be prepared with instrumentation and set up. As well as, given the circumstances, what added equipment and supplies would possibly be necessary to complete the procedure efficiently.
