Demonstrates essential mathematical skills

Basic math skills are present in just about everything you do on a daily basis. Math is utilized with measuring out for cooking, figuring out distances and how long it will take to get there, and even if you were adding up a bowling score. You may not realize all the advantages that mathematical skills give you.
A Surgical Technologist utilizes math skills when dealing with pharmacological agents. It is important to understand the ratios of certain medications as to how strong the dosage actually could be. A Surgical Technologist may also need to calculate estimated blood loss and the amount of irrigation solution used intraoperatively. These basic skills could mean a patient needs more blood or that they have met the maximum dosage allowed for their body height and weight.
The artifact I chose is a part of the math portion of my pharmacology homework. It shows my basic mathematical skills are up to date and I am able to calculate different ratios and conversions.
